In this project, calcium carbonate was processed and graded for use in the engineered stone and building products industries. The main goal of the project was to produce aggregates of a specified size, with good uniformity and minimal impurities. First, the stone extracted from the mine was inspected for color, purity, strength and visual quality in order to select suitable raw material for the processing line.
After the stone was selected, it was crushed in several stages to bring the material down to the required size. Then, using grading equipment and industrial screens, the particles were separated by size. Oversized, undersized and irregular grains were removed from the main product so that the final product would be uniform in shape and size. This is particularly important in the engineered stone industry, since poor gradation can create voids, reduce strength or give the final product an irregular appearance.
Throughout the project, production samples were checked periodically to ensure that grain sizes matched the customer’s specifications. After final approval, the product was packed in packaging suited to the plant’s usage and unloading conditions. Shipments were also dispatched according to the customer’s production schedule so that the raw material would reach the production line at the right time.
The result of this project was graded calcium carbonate with consistent quality and a uniform appearance. Using this product improved the density, strength and visual quality of the building products and met the client’s need for a reliable, regular supplier.
