George Timothy Clooney was born in 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky, United States, into a family well known in business and the arts. His father, Nick Clooney, was a radio and television host. Although he had little interest in studying, he completed elementary and high school in Lexington and went to northern Kentucky for his university education. In 1979, Clooney entered Northern Kentucky University and began studying journalism. In 1981 he abruptly dropped out, and the following year he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati to complete his studies, where he again failed to earn a degree.
